Tim graduated from Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana with a Bachelor of Music degree (Trumpet performance and minor in Music Education). During college he sensed the Lord was calling him to vocational ministry. Tim has also attended the Houston Baptist Campus of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary focusing toward a Masters in Religious Education.

Prior to coming to Mt. Pleasant in November 1992, Tim served as Minister Music and Youth at First Baptist Church, Huntington, Texas from 1987-1992. Other staff positions include Garrett Road Baptist Church/Monroe Christian School in Monroe, Louisiana (1984-1987); Fair Park Baptist Church in West Monroe, Louisiana (1981-1984) and First Christian Church in Monroe, Louisiana (1980-1981). He was licensed and ordained to the Gospel Ministry by Garrett Road Baptist Church in 1985.

Tim and his wife Babs, a native of Monroe, Louisiana, were married September 30, 1989. Babs is the Office Manager for the Dermatology and Skin Cancer Clinic. They have a son Zachary Wayne born January 21, 1995. Tim’s hobbies include spending time with his family, fishing, golf and hunting.
